Woolly Mammoth Goldfish
Last page in my sketchbook...
This is how most of my fish start, as small thumbnails in my sketchbook (these were all done while I was on the phone). This was the last page in my sketchbook that I've been doodling in for the past two years (May 05' was my first recorded date in it) so I thought I'd show it. Stay tuned to see these beauties in all their glory in the upcoming days...

FISH SALE!
Okay so I've got a lot of fish lying around and I figured my #50 fish posting would be a good time to release them into the wild. So if you'd like to have one, shoot me an email (kennon(at)kennonjames.com) and let me know. They're $35 a piece + $5 for shipping and handling, 8.5x11 b&w (no screens or colors, that was all done in Photoshop, this is just for the original lineart). Many of the fish have already been sold and I'll be posting comments on the ones that have already swam upstream (sold). Thanks!

Googly Tall Fish
Okay I know, not the most original name but I'm on the third day of my cleanse so my brainpower's not the best right now.

UPS SUCKS.
This is the one of many posts I will have in different forums about how bad UPS sucks.
Don't ever use them. They are incompetent (the drivers don't check signatures, in my case someone who's name starts with a D signed for my package, the driver just entered that it was signed by "Kennon"), their computer system is seriously flawed (if the computer doesn't recognize an address it just randomly generates a new address, in my case the wrong name, address, city, and zip, I guess I should feel lucky it got in the correct state), and their customer service is rude (I had two people actually hang up on me because I kept asking questions they couldn't answer).
So long story short; my father used UPS to mail some sculptures to me that I did when I was a kid. He used my correct name, correct address (he left out drive), correct city, correct state. UPS, in their automated wisdom sent it to the wrong person (who signed for it), wrong address, wrong city, and wrong zip. This was double-checked by no one. No logic that I can see was used to get the package to the correct address. Isn't this why we have RETURN addresses on everything? And now, items that are priceless to my father and I are presumable lost forever. (This has happened to me twice in the last month)
So for those of us who use the various mailing systems to do business. Be warned, UPS is not to be trusted. I never will again.

Fish sculpture progress (scales and skin complete)
The scales and skin are complete, now for the fun stuff... the paint job. I had a few people ask me how big he is so I put a sharpie in the picture for scale reference. He measures approximately 3 feet long by 2 feet tall. I didn't count this time (the Red Snouted Spiny Fish on my website has 1,948) but he has well over a thousand scales on him. He'll be drying today and hopefully I can knock out his paint job tomorrow.

Fish sculpture progress
Okay, so he didn't get done "next week" like I said about four weeks ago but I have steadily been working on him. Here are a few progress shots. The bottom one is where he is currently. I'll be adding some more scales to him today.
Again I'll be at Staple! tomorrow selling my wares. I'm looking forward to it, should be a fun weekend.
JET BLACK
When her village was sacked and burned by a rival barbarian tribe the infant girl was orphaned and left for dead. Adopted and raised by wolves she came back to wreak her vengeance. Armed only with her father's flail "Skullcrusher" she descented upon the babarians and exacted her blood toll...

Random forum feature
Looks like one of my illustrations "Shiversilver Man" was featured at http://www.DesignContest.net. I'm not exactly sure what that means to me but cool nonetheless.
