One of my fish (the Bluefin Chomper) was juried into the "Radical Nautical" show, a sea-themed, group gallery show here in Austin. The show will be exhibited throughout the month of August and the opening will be August 2nd 7-10 pm. You can view the website for the show here to see some of the artwork that will be shown and you can check out the postcard with all the info here. If you'd like me to mail you a postcard email me or just leave your address here (it probably won't get there by the show unfortunately). So if you're in the neighborhood come check it out.
Okay this week's topic at IllustrationFriday is poem. Poem? Alright then. Here's an old piece I did over Thanksgiving 2005, it's a collaboration between myself and my great and talented friend Loren Hoskins. I did the scribbles, he did the words.
My second post to Illustration Friday, topic: "Discovery". It's Saturday night and I'm drawing cavemen while listening to Led Zeppelin. Nice. * And yeah I know the flame direction vs the wind direction is wrong but it was 1 am and I was ready to crash. Pretend he's on a really high cliff with the wind coming from below him. Yeah that's it. Thanks for spotting that Sarah. :)
Yup, that's right. This guy is number 100. I am planning on doing a compilation fish book and I said that 100 fish drawings would be my target number to put that together but I think I'm going to go for 110 to give me some leeway to leave some out if need be. Stay tuned.
I have been graciously invited to join Empty Room Studios, a collective professional group specializing in writing and artistic services. You can see my page here.
My first post to Illustration Friday, topic: Geeky. Ironically only geeks will get my humor on this. (I'm only a few episodes of Star Trek away from being this guy.)
I named this guy with the specific intent to put a really cool paint job on him which, I think, he's screaming for. Unfortunately for him I'm about to go see Transformers so his paint job's going to have to wait.
